Kyle Prentice: A Dedicated Father, Marine, and Friend

Kyle Prentice, a beloved father, husband, Marine Corps veteran, and friend, passed away on January 17, 2023, in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He was 32 years old. Kyle leaves behind his wife, Sarah, and two young children, Harper and Henry. Tragically, on January 14, 2023, Kyle was involved in a fatal car accident while driving home from work. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kyle’s unexpected passing has sent shockwaves through his family, friends, and the La Crosse community. The outpouring of grief and support has been overwhelming, as people struggle to comprehend the loss of such a kind and loving person.

Kyle’s Childhood and Education

Kyle was born on March 10, 1990, in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He attended Aquinas Catholic School and Logan High School before graduating from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a degree in criminal justice. During his time at Logan High School, Kyle was a standout athlete, playing football, basketball, and baseball. He was also an active member of the school’s band and choir.

Kyle’s Military Service

After graduating from college, Kyle enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, who had served in the Korean War. Kyle completed boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California, and was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California.

Kyle served two tours of duty in Iraq, where he was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for his actions during combat operations. He was also awarded the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

Kyle’s Post-Military Career

After completing his military service, Kyle returned to La Crosse and began working as a corrections officer at the La Crosse County Jail. He was dedicated to his job and took pride in helping those who were struggling with addiction and mental health issues.

In addition to his work at the jail, Kyle was also a volunteer firefighter for the La Crosse Fire Department. He loved helping his community and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need.

Kyle’s Family and Friends

Kyle was a loving and devoted husband and father. His family was his everything, and he cherished every moment he spent with them. Kyle was also a loyal and supportive friend who was always there for those he cared about. He had a contagious laugh and a quick wit that could make anyone smile.
